Kitchen Remodel Upgrades

Here are a few ideas to make your kitchen just a little more fun.

  1. A hidden spice drawer. There is a lot of dead space to be found in kitchens. This can be between the stove and cabinets, the refrigerator and walls, even underneath the cabinets! A great use of that space is to put in a built-in spice rack!
  2. A stand mixer shelf with a lift. Your mixer may be helpful when it comes to baking, but it can be a huge eye sore and take up a lot of valuable counter space. Adding in a special spot just for that gets it off your counters while it’s still easily accessible.
  3. A drawer for your garbage and recycling cans. Most families keep their garbage cans under the sink and while that can get them out of your way, it makes it a little more difficult when dumping messy plates and can cause mess and bacteria to gather underneath the cans. A sliding shelf can be added to help keep messes away and make your life just a little easier!
  4. Hanging pan storage. If you’re anything like most Americans, your pots and pan storage is basically nonexistent. They just get thrown into a cabinet wherever they fit. This can cause chips, cracks, and a big headache when you’re looking for a lid that you forgot to take out and your sauce is boiling over on the stove. Adding in a designated space can help alleviate a lot of extra stress!
  5. A pull out cutting board. Another great use for dead space is a sturdy, reinforced cutting board under the countertop. This may not seem like it would add very much space, but it can make a world of difference when you have 15 different things happening in your kitchen and can’t find a spot to cut an onion!
